Quick answer
Progressive Pathways Psychiatry offers telehealth psychiatric care to people anywhere in Washington State by secure video. Stacy Edosonmwan, PMHNP-BC, ARNP, provides psychiatric evaluations and medication management for patients aged 13 and up. You need to be in Washington during each visit, and no controlled substances are prescribed there.
Care for Washington residents
Finding psychiatric care in Washington can be hard. Every one of the state's 39 counties contains at least one federally designated mental health professional shortage area, according to the Health Resources and Services Administration, and the gap is widest outside the largest Puget Sound cities. Telehealth closes part of that distance: from Spokane to Vancouver, a visit needs a private room and a steady connection, not a long drive to an office.
What telehealth psychiatric care includes
Care starts with a full psychiatric evaluation: your history, what you have already tried and what you want to be different. From there, most people continue with medication management, a series of shorter video follow-ups where treatment is adjusted with you as you learn what helps.
The conditions treated by video are the ones most people come in with: depression, anxiety and panic, obsessive-compulsive disorder, bipolar disorder, PTSD, insomnia and ADHD. In Washington, ADHD treatment uses non-stimulant options only.
What you need for a video visit
A private room where you can talk freely, a phone, tablet or computer with a camera, and a steady internet connection. Many people take their visit from home; some use a parked car or a quiet office. What matters is that you can speak openly and that you are in Washington when the visit starts.
When telehealth is not the right fit
Video visits are for planned outpatient care. They are not a substitute for emergency help: if you are in crisis, call or text 988 any time. And because controlled substances are not prescribed to Washington patients, anyone whose treatment depends on a stimulant or a benzodiazepine will need a prescriber who can see them in person.

Questions people ask
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to be in Washington to have a visit?
Yes. You need to be physically in Washington State at the time of each video visit. That is a licensing rule: the Washington license covers care for patients located in Washington, so a visit cannot happen while you are in Idaho, Oregon or anywhere else.
Do you prescribe ADHD stimulants or benzodiazepines in Washington?
No. Controlled substances, including stimulants and benzodiazepines, are not prescribed to Washington patients. ADHD, anxiety and sleep problems can still be evaluated and treated, and the non-controlled options are discussed at your first visit.
Which insurance plans do you take in Washington?
The Washington plans currently in network are listed under "Washington care at a glance" on this page, and the list grows as new plans are approved. Washington and Texas plans are separate, so please call the office to check your coverage before your first visit.
Is a video visit as good as seeing someone in person?
For most outpatient psychiatric care, such as evaluations and medication follow-ups, a video visit covers the same ground and saves the drive. If a need comes up that video cannot meet, you will be told plainly and helped to find in-person care near you.
